MVDC call for greenfield sites

Mole Valley District Council, in its efforts to meet local housing need, has decided that modest additions to rural villages is one of the preferred options it wants to explore further.
To investigate how it might be included in the Local Plan – called Future Mole Valley in which the general public will have the opportunity for consultation in late summer/early autumn 2018 – MVDC is looking to meet with parish councils and local residents associations early in the New Year.
At the same time a consultation will run from now until 5th February 2018 seeking landowners who may wish to promote land for inclusion in Future Mole Valley. The consultation is also open to non-landowners (Including parish councils and village associations) to suggest land that could be developed for the benefit of their village.
Under the banner ‘Greenfield Call-for-Sites', MVDC is issuing this call to landowners: “If you own or have an interest in a site which you would like the Council to consider for future development please visit the futuremolevalley.org website for further information. The Council is also seeking community engagement on the potential for modest extensions to rural villages as a means of supporting vibrant and successful rural communities. Officers from the Planning Policy department will be attending Parish Council meetings in early 2018.”

The meeting for the Abinger Parish will be held at The Evelyn Hall, Abinger Common, on Monday 19th February at 8pm. It is an open meeting and the public are encouraged to attend.
Please contact the Clerk in advance if you are intending to come.
